Summer legs on shoulders and pedaling!
Summer in Valle Camonica is a triumph of the most varied and exciting sports. The bicycle, in all its forms, is super popular: on the road, with the racing bike you can cover the classic and arduous mountain stages of the Giro d’Italia or wander around the villages of the area, while the dirt roads can be tackled riding a solid mountain bike.
Those who don’t cycle, however, will be able to take advantage of a golf course, an adventure park with rope bridges suspended between the trees, a rafting centre, two fitness trails surrounded by greenery, a skating rink or an indoor swimming pool. Still not convinced? All you have left is the good old trekking, which uses routes suitable for everyone and allows you to enjoy the enchanting landscape of the Upper Valley.
Autumn deer in love and golden carpets
Flora, fauna, mushrooms and chestnuts are the protagonists of autumn in Valle Camonica. Between walks and excursions on crunching carpets of golden leaves, the song of the deer in love, typical of this season, is absolutely not to be missed.
The contemplation of nature and its unique spectacles can also be combined with a bit of cultural tourism, visiting the various museums in the Upper Valley: the White War Museum in Temù, the “El Züf” Ethnographic Museum in Vione, the naturalistic museum of Vezza d’Oglio and the parish museum of sacred art in Ponte di Legno.
Winter snow sports
Valle Camonica, covered in a white winter blanket, is the ideal destination for practicing many sports in the cold season, from the most classic to the most picturesque. The Ponte di Legno-Tonale-Temù ski area offers over 100 km of slopes for skiers and snowboarders and several trails for cross-country skiers and mountaineers.
More unusual activities are, however, snowmobile descents or the unique experience of sledding pulled by huskies. Not to be missed, then, are the night-time torchlight processions on the slopes, snowshoeing in the moonlight, the “Tabià de Nadal” markets in Temù, as well as the always engaging Luna Rally.
Spring A journey through time of ten thousand years
In Valle Camonica, just follow any path to come across the traces of a thousand-year history: from the rock carvings of the ancient Camuni, dating back to prehistoric times, to the remains of the Roman amphitheater and the many medieval villages and castles, you can easily get to discover the still visible trenches of the First World War.
Not to mention that all this is set in a valley, the two sides of which are occupied by none other than the Stelvio National Park and the Adamello Regional Park, where flora and fauna are protected and nature reigns supreme. All excellent opportunities, in short, to spend a unique and special spring.
